Wrote this a long time back. Thought it might be a nice way to say goodbye to our old selves temporarily and just put on the 'model NJC mugger student' costume for a while, until after the As.

If...
If yesterday has come to pass,
Which it definitely has done so,

Then there shouldn't be an if.

If people come and people go,
To and fro and to, and fro,

Then after a high could be a low - There shouldn't be an if.

If Romeo met Juliet,
Got poison fluid to his head,

Then it'll be exactly as Shakespeare said - There shouldn't be an if.

If raindrops fell straight from the sky,
And we usually tend to wave goodbye,

Then it is perfectly ok to cry - There shouldn't be an if.

If all things good must end one day,
What more can I say?

There shouldn't be an if.
